I wonder writing articles and posting it on article websites like ezeline etc, how can it help increasing the traffic ? Is there any other advantage for SEO for this ?

When you post articles on article directories like Ezine Articles, it not only increases targeted traffic but helps with SEO due to the high page rank of these directories. Pick 10 or 12 out with good page ranks, post articles to them often, and you will see after a few months that your site starts ranking higher. When you will submit Article to Article Directory there are option to put your website link in the author resource section you are allowed to put two links there by this you will get back link for your website. When some one will read your article they will click on your link which you already put author resource section they will redirected to your website by this you will gain targeted traffic

Hi,

I have been in advertising sale for 10 years but i have just joined a SEO agency who have never had a sales team (they are a new business). I was wondering whether someone could help me, as I am currently cold call to find new business but feel as though i am hitting a brick wall!!!! Who are the best industries to target? Other than cold calling and searching online for prospective clients – what can i do? I’m just looking for the right direction – is the SEO world really this competitive?

Well to achieve more and more leads you need to take care on both sides of the site

What i exactly mean is do the proper On Page & Off Page

On-Page
1. Select proper keywords
2. Check for the Titles, Description and the Heading Tags

On Off-Page(this needs to be taken more care of once the on-page of the site is done and the site is launched). All Off Page Techniques like Blog Posting(Ping the blogs and Submit blogs afterwards), Articles Posting, Forum Posting, Social Bookmarking, etc. This all Techniques need to be done in number of 500 to 700 per month with a fresh content on posting side, because content is the king in SEO. As any search engine will always prefer the fresh and new content while crawling and avoid duplications and spamming of links.

After this much practice per month…your site will definitely will achieve good rank in any search engine(but backlinks from the off-page should be relevant and meaningful)….and then will get good number of visitors which will lead into good sales.

People say it’s not too difficult to learn SEO. So I wish to know in general how long it might take for one person to learn it? Say, one year? or more with no computer knowledge background?

It really depends on how intent and focused you are in learning it. I know of folks who have gained massive knowledge in SEO in just 2 months by making sure that they read and understand key sources of information on SEO such as:

1. Webmaster guidelines of the search engines

2. Press rooms and announcements of the search engines

I have an internet based T-shirt business and it’s been kind of slow. I’ve been approached by a local company that specializes in SEO and was wondering if anyone has any experience and results dealing with one of these types of businesses? The cost is $129/mo.

I would not go for a company to do any SEO to business site if i were you. Hiring an SEO company will lead you to get into trouble because

1. They link farm and spam links
2. When links are produced very quickly of course for sometime you will be in the 1st 10 pages but once link spam has been identified you are in most case would be sandboxed. i.e is deindexed .

What i recommend you is my friend implement your own SEO campaign for your best suit. You can go through these 2 links to monetize the best out of SEO and traffic building

Conductor recently conducted a report regarding search trends and Fortune 500 companies. As Seth Dotterer of Conductor tells WebProNews, the company did the report to determine where it is that Fortune 500 companies are spending their money.

They found that these companies are spending a lot of money on paid search. Interestingly enough, they are not investing in natural search despite the many opportunities there.

In the report, Conductor looked at 6.7 million keywords and found that only 2 percent of the companies involved showed a significant percentage of keywords in the top 30 results. In other words, these companies are spending millions of dollars daily on PPC and yet only 2 percent showed up in the top 30 results.

The report also found that more than 50 percent of the companies were not showing up at all. In reality, Dotterer says that these keywords would be found if these companies ranked in organic search. In addition, the companies would not have to spend as much for natural search.

As people started to get more and more specific about what they were searching for, Fortune 500 tanked even further, adds Dotterer.

In the end, natural search has many opportunities that PPC does not. In addition, companies could save a lot of wasted money by investing some of their time on the organic side of search.
