How to Find Maryland SEO Keywords?

December 15, 2010 - 4:19 pm 5 Comments

One of the biggest mistakes I see start-ups (or, for that matter, even larger companies) make is in the keyword selection process. They use the Google Keyword Research Tool. But the mistake they make is to “select” a Broad Match and not an “exact” match. For all SEO purposes, you need to consider only the “Exact” match numbers. I would advise going one step further and running a small “Adwords” campaign for your website. That will give you the most accurate data as to which keywords get you leads or sales. Once you have this data, you can start using it for SEO.

SEO tools: Is there a tool to see where my site ranks using certain keywords on Google?

December 9, 2010 - 6:50 pm 9 Comments

eg…. example only

keyword input in google search: pond supplies

www.fishpondsrus.com rank 24th

so I can see if my SEO stuff is working etc.

I’ve got market samurai but I dumped it for this purpose. Strongly recommend this free tool:
http://searchenginereports.net/

You can see how you rank on Google, Bing and Yahoo. You can check multiple keywords for the same url at the same time.

Very convenient, web-based and no need to install anything :)

Types of Keywords in SEO?

November 28, 2010 - 11:10 pm 1 Comment

Keywords and meta tags are completely uncommon stipulations. Specific terms used while searching point in rank on the Internet are renowned as keywords. Descriptive terms and phrases attached to the mess pages, hidden to the visitors are renowned as Meta tags. They help in retrieving the sites the surfer is looking for.

SEO Long Tail Keywords?

October 28, 2010 - 3:44 am 2 Comments

Just wanted to know if people think that Longtail Keywords are bullsh_t? Does putting in the time to get the long tails pay off?

it will be alot easier getting listed in the top of the search engines for longtail keywords than single word keywords. When you are starting off you are more likely to get results for longtail keywords. After awhile if you have been using seo methods you will probably start showing up for single words.
some keywords are much more difficult than others. I would use prweb.com and do a press release to target these difficult keywords.
Make sure you use other seo methods on a regular basis.

Target SEO Competitor Keywords, or use others?

October 22, 2010 - 9:47 pm 5 Comments

I’m starting a site, and I’m analyzing a few competitors sites. I can see what keywords they are using most and I wonder, "Should I use those EXACT keywords on my site, or should I try and target OTHER keywords that are searched a lot that he doesn’t have on his site?"

And if the answer is both how do I know which keywords to use and which ones not?

I have a great list of keywords for my website. How can a mask them so they are SEO friendly?

October 17, 2010 - 4:09 pm 1 Comment

I have a great list of keywords for my website. How can a mask them so they are SEO friendly? I just don’t want everyone who visits my website to see the key-words and have competitors steal them. Any hints that are SEO friendly? Thank you.

Search engines use what are called meta tags. That’s generally what they look for when indexing your site. These keywords won’t be visible when a user goes to your site unless they right-click on the page and say "view source" or something.

In other words, they aren’t visible unless someone goes to look for them specifically. You CAN NOT hide them any more than that. If you do, the search engines won’t be able to find them.
