How much do you know about Black Hat SEO?

May 4, 2010 - 12:38 am 7 Comments

I’m writing an article on Black Hat SEO and was wondering if anyone knew of any techniques not included in the list below.

Is anything missing?

Keyword stuffing, invisible text, doorway pages, link spamming (link farms), blog spamming, cloaking

You are missing a TON of techniques. The only thing that is Black Hat from the list above is Cloaking.

There is a BIG difference between Black Hat and Spamming.

How much Does the SEO activity cost?

May 1, 2010 - 11:39 pm 3 Comments

I mean, I have a website and I want to contact a professional SEO agency or a professional SEO developer. How much would it cost me?And how much per hour a SEO professional would cost me?Do they charge you per keyword, hours, links? Thanks everybody!

They usually say stuff like they wioll continually work to get you on top of google for a certain keyword and quote you for that keyword.
Some guy quotesed me $2000 for my EPOS site for the keyword EPOS.

But hey, it doesn’t matter now. Google have released their new Web search where users can redfine the order of the SERPs how they see fit. There is no ‘top of google’, just make your website cool and let it grow through your local community. Only way from here on in.

By by $1bn SEO indusrty, Google F’ed you in the A!

Will hiding keyword text with CSS in navigation bar decrease SEO precedence?

April 29, 2010 - 10:24 pm 3 Comments

Say I did something like this:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>What Ever You Want – Mad right Now Media, Talk trash</title>
<style type="text/css">
<!–
#don {
}
#don h5 {
display: none;
}
–>
</style>
</head>

<body>
<div id="don">
<h5>MAD RIGHT NOW!</h5>
<img src="Images/Ristar_scorched_by_EmeraldGuardian1.jpg" width="300" height="319" /></div>
</body>
</html>

and Mad right now were my keywords. They are at the top of the body and they are in h5 tags, but they are hidden with a CSS rule. Would that decrease the SEO popularity of the page? Sure I could always use alt text, but alt text doesn’t have as much presidency than an h5 tag, or something that is further up the page.

As a general rule, if your page is server-side, then yes it would hide it. If you’re only using that page client-side (static, etc.), then it would still show.

Basically the way to find out is do a view source on the rendered page. If you can see the keywords, then so can the SEO robots.

Best SEO tool for Keyword ranking reports?

April 28, 2010 - 1:01 am 3 Comments

I’m looking for a tool that can pull where a site ranks when searched under certain keywords in Google, Bing, Yahoo (so on). So a positioning report, so to speak.

Is there anything out there where I can type in "Florida Attorney" and get a spreadsheet list of site rankings for all the different search engines?

I use the free edition of Rank Tracker and it’s really helpful:
http://www.link-assistant.com/rank-tracker/

You can choose to track your ranking score in Google, Yahoo, Bing, Aol, Ask.com, Altavista, Excite, Lycos etc. and also in their local sites for the different countries in the world

There is no limit for the number of keywords you will track

You get a report based on the results. The only thing about the free version is that you cannot save the report or copy the results, it works fine for information and that’s all I need

SEO question: whats a good keyword ranking tool? has anyone heard of or use "advanced web ranking"?

April 26, 2010 - 4:07 am 2 Comments

What was your experience with it, is it a popular tool? I downloaded it for the free 30 day trial… If not, what do you use?

My favorite keyword tool is WordTracker.com. As part of their subscription service, which isn’t exactly cheap, you get quite a few useful tools. But they do have a free trial that you can use as many times as you want, and many people often find that the free tool suits their needs. Theres also a free keyword tool at SEO Book that i’ve found to be quite helpful and accurate.

When using SEO to get my website ranked in Google, can I ever compete with domain names that the exact keyword?

April 24, 2010 - 1:32 am 7 Comments

When using SEO to get my website ranked in Google, can I ever compete with domain names that the exact keyword that I am optimizing for?

For example, if I am optimizing a site for the keyword search "train horns" on Google and my domain name/website name is a general business name like "industrialsupply.com" etc., without the keyword "train horns" included in the domain, can I ever compete for position 1 on Google for that keyword? Or, will the website "www.trainhorns.com" or "www.trainhorns.net" always rank above me because the domain name matches the keyword? Thanks!

You need to study and select some keywords that are related to your site and add it to your website. Then submit it to search engine. After a time, it may come in top 10 from the search result. For example, the keyword: topbuysell is related to domain http://www.topbuysell.com . And it ranks number one on the search result.
